Wondrous item, uncommon
Description: A tunic of undyed, plain silk, with what appears to be thousands of beads embroidered into it. On closer inspection, these beads are tiny ladybug carapaces.
If the wearer has the ability to cast a spell that conjures, manipulates, or simulates insect behavior or abilities, once per day the wearer can say a command word as a bonus action to cause the Ladybird Tunic to transform into a +2 breastplate (which the wearer is automatically proficient with) for up to 1 hour, taking the appearance of a ladybug’s carapace.
Once per day as a bonus action, this tunic can also open its back to reveal a large pair of beetle wings, giving the wearer flight as the Fly spell for ten minutes.
Attunement: Required
Lore: The Witch Entom’s reclusive nature was not entirely voluntary - her heritage and appearance gave many people pause, and some of them fear or hatred. Part of her love of insects comes from their indifference, and eventual apparent acceptance as she cared for them, for acceptance was something she needed. She held no cruelty in her heart, only caution and vindictive ire for those who would wrong her. She cloaked herself in her tiny friends, both figuratively and almost literally. They protected her, and she nurtured them.
